Following on from our involvement in Phase I of the Futura City masterplan, we were asked to design a concentrated residential district with complementary retail.
The scheme falls under the SOHO incentive (small office/home office) and comprises eight different prototypes of towers. The linear retail of 2-3 levels flanks the main street linking the towers and providing a human scale for visitors. Contemporary, angular blocks open up revealing small plazas stocked with cafes and restaurants.
Projects of this scale can often look bleak and soulless, so we varied the heights and façade treatment for each tower giving them their own individual identity.
